The grant project I'm working with my professor on is going pretty well. I'm putting the polish on the last few of my shots, then its just fixing some materials and starting on the final renders. This has been a fun project to do for my final semester, the speed has been fun since I've had to work about twice as fast as the class usually goes to get it done in time. It has also been insightful to kind of see how you deal with a client at least the meeting I was there for. Once the renders get underway I'll add some footage to my demo reel and put it up here.
In other news I have an internship this summer at Grasshorse. They were at career days back at the end of February. I saw their presentation and decided to go talk to them at their booth afterwords. I lined up for what I thought was going to be a mock interview and showed them my resume and demo reel. The interview pretty much clicked right away part of which came from my study abroad in sweden breaking into a brief discussion about ludafisk and sandwich cake. They also like that I was a Siggraph student volunteer and said they would work with me to get some work that I can put on my reel when I go to Siggraph in LA in July. They pointed out that I should but my programming skills on my resume even though I don't want to be a programmer because it shows technical skills and ability.
I'm looking forward to starting in may and getting some job experience.
